I started Maroon in August of 2005 for reasons that I no longer remember. I've been reading a lot of old newspaper strips and I became interested in recreating the old Sunday style serial comic strip as a webcomic. I've searched around at a lot of webcomics and found very little that interests me. There's a lot of humour and manga-style and fantasy and videogame/geek stuff, but there's very little I've found quite like what I wanted to read.

I've been relearning to draw throughout the strip, and I've spent a lot of time with the layouts and breakdowns in the strips. Some of the strips also utilize constraint in various ways. I've settled on a blue/orange color scheme and a wide format.

The strip was published every Sunday and ended on the last Sunday of July 2006.
