Trondheim Wins Grand Prize at Angouleme

Lewis Trondheim won the Grand Prize at the International Festival of Bande Dessinee at Angouleme. The festival is the major comics festival for bande dessinee. As winner of the prize, Trondheim is the head of the festival committee for the next year. (Thanks to Tom Spurgeon for the link.)

Trondheim is not only a great cartoonist, but he also is one of the founding members of indie publisher L’Association and a founding member of the Oubapo. He’s quite prolific; his work spans the range from children’s books to mainstream books to experimental books.
