To clarify my vote on question 1 (RSS/Atom Feed) - I check in my feedreader to see if there´s new posts on the blog and then read them on the site. So, a bit of a hybrid between those options then.

Well, to clarify my answer on 2, I’ve known about the “notes” for a while, but I kept forgetting about them. A few days ago someone forwarded me the link to the “Blurred Vision” note (and thanks!) and then I started poking around there more. Honestly, I think you should consolidate the two. Much of the stuff in “notes” is extremely interesting and well put, and it would help keep your main blog updated more often.
