I rarely read brand new hot off the press novels, but a few years back I read Helen DeWitt’s The Last Samurai two times in a row (and then another time later on). It’s a wonderfully funny, erudite, and moving novel. Six years later and I’ve found her website and a one page pdf file that gives out some information on her next novel Your Name Here, which the undated document says is almost finished.
The pdf file is an interesting little story in itself, involving DeWitt meeting someone who she wrote to for a long time and turned out to be a papparazzo. She’s worked his emails into the new novel.
I can’t wait. Definitely something to look forward to.
