Two new things on my reading list:
When Fangirls Attack: Collecting links on women in comics, in the wake of a sexual harrassment in comics story and Lea Hernandez’s “quitting” comics. I don’t have time to read it all, but there is interesting posts on here. Check out Ronee Bourgeois interview with Colleen Doran, Lea Hernandez, and a pseudonymous woman about sexual harrassment in the comics industry. It’s all quite disheartening and sickening what some think they can (and do) get away with.
The Visual Linguist: Neil Cohn started blogging last month and I missed it. Neil is researching visual language. While I sometimes find his essays too complicated from a linguistics standpoint, they are fascinating from a comics standpoint. Highly recommended if you are interesting in formal elements of comics and visual communication.
