On the homefront, I’ve got myself a rather busy time of it right now. You can expect lighter blogging for at least a week or two, I think (maybe some shorter posts), though Maroon will appear on schedule. There are a lot of comics piled around here, and I’ll get through them sometime.
In the meantime I heartily recommend you visit the Litblog Co-op site for some excellent reading recommendations of the non-comic kind. Our selection this quarter, Kristin Allio’s Garner (Coffee House Press) is a beautifully written novel that I gave very high marks in our voting process. I’d equally recommend Ander Monson’s Other Electricities (Sarabande Books), one of the very few “short stories as novel” that I thought was extremely successful. I’ll have a post up later next week on the related subject of novels with indexes (Monson’s book includes an index).
