Links for November 21st through December 8th
Welcome to Madinkbeard. If you enjoy this post you could subscribe to the RSS feed to receive upcoming posts or browse the archives to see past posts. I also create a twice weekly webcomic called Things Change: The Metamorphoses Comic and an irregularly updated notes blog that contains short quotes, comments, images, or links mostly related to comics and criticism.
Some reading for November 21st through December 8th:
- Cafe Alpha Manga Translations - Featuring the first two chapters of Hitoshi Ashinano’s new work (he of YKK my most favorite manga), called Kabu No Isaki.
- The Jesse Marsh Site/home - Great site of old Jesse Marsh comics from the 40s-50s. The Tarzan stuff is really worth looking at. I heard Dark Horse is releasing a collection of his work soon and I’m excited after seeing this site.
- COMICON.com: TREASURES OF THE OLD-SCHOOL: THE FIRST KINGDOM - A good enthusiastic overview of Jack Katz’s epic comic. Got me excited about finishing reading the series with back issues, since the reprinted volumes seems to have died out halfway through (publisher folded? I don’t know).
- American Elf - Kolchalka has updated his site and finally there’s an RSS feed! Plus the archives are free.
- My Life in Records: Prologue - Grant Thomas has restarted his webcomic using infinite canvas and color. Some crazy stuff going on here with word/image balloons intermingling music/words/memory/image.
- DECONSTRUCTING ROY LICHTENSTEIN - A side-by-side comparison of Lichtenstein’s paintings and the comics panels he appropriated.
- Xpress Reviews?11/20/07 - Another one of my Library Journal reviews, this time for Andromeda Stories Vol. 1.
