End of the Week
Not a lot of links to share this week, but the one I have is worth a long look:
-Sunday Press (of the extra large Little Nemo book) is releasing a Gasoline Alley Sundays Book. Large, colorful, and often experimental, these strips look great. Check out the samples. Some of these might be familiar from the Master of Comics book or Drawn & Quarterly annuals, but many aren’t–this silhouetted one is new to me. You can pre-order now (I did).
-Tom Hart shares one of Rick Geary’s people-less comics, “American Motels” (1978). This came up on the Oubapo list in regards to people-less comics (like this week’s review All Over Coffee).
Not much else going on. I start a long vacation on Monday: at home drawing, writing, etc. Book 2 of Things Change will be finishing up in that time, and I have this idea for a mini-comic that I’m hoping to make. Also, more reviews. I’ve got a lot of interesting comics and comics-related books littering my office floor crying out for written attention.
