Tom Spurgeon posted “The Comics Reporter’s Top 50 of 2005″. An extensive list, many I’ve read, many I haven’t. Ones I mean to read; ones I don’t. I can’t agree with all of his choices, but it’s hard to argue with most.
Interestingly, of the top ten, 5 newspaper strip reprints, 1 bande dessinee, 1 manga, and 3 American reprints.
Worth reading through for recommendations of books you may have missed (I found a few to look up, or renewed my interest in some I’ve been hedging about).
