Apologia
Sorry for the lack of postings lately. I’m now recovering from the presentation I gave Wednesday, which took a lot of my blogging time the past week or two. It also took from my drawing time, so before I get back to writing about comics (and the pile awaiting comment is getting rather large at this point) I need to catch up with Maroon. This Sunday’s episode isn’t even done yet. I haven’t missed a week since October, and I don’t plan on it now.
In the meantime, it’s well worth the time to read the two part (part one, part two) interview with Alan Moore at Cinescope on his and Melinda Gebbie’s forthcoming Lost Girls. He talks a lot about the genesis of the book and his ideas on art and pornography.
Comics I’ve read lately: Goddess Head by Dash Shaw, Buddha Vol. 8 by Osamu Tezuka, Jeffrey Brown’s latest about girls (again), A.L.I.E.E.E.N. by Trondheim (the only First Second release I got as a review copy), Or Else 4 by Kevin Huizenga, a few minis by Eleanor Davis, the latest from John Porcellino, and most of the Marvel Visionaries: Jack Kirby Vol.2 book. I wouldn’t recommend all of them, but it’ll take time to sort that out. I’m currently part-way through The First Kingdom Vol.2 by Jack Katz, which might be more convoluted than Vol. 1.
