A few links

Matt Cheney posts a few excerpts from Gilbert Sorrentino and links to two newspaper obits that are far superior to the condescending New York Times one, one from the LA Times and one from the Washington Post.

Tom Spurgeon links over to a story at ICV that Joss Whedon is writing a six issue Buffy comic for Dark Horse that picks up after the tv series finale. Of course, I’ll buy at least the first issue, but I’ll enter with skepticism. So far, Whedon’s comic work has no impressed me, and the art on previous Buffy (and Serenity, too) series suffer from trying to recreate the actor’s faces from the show (which makes for weird looking comics).
