It’s great how there’s a whole narrative there, just barely suggested. As a reader I feel very complicit in the writing of this one.
The “secret of the story lies in its economy: the events, however long they last, become punctiform, connected by rectilinear segments, in a zigzag pattern that suggests incessant motion.”
Or so says Calvino…
Thanks Warren. I was hoping the images were allusive enough to provide some kind of filling in of blanks.
Where’s that quote from, Ian? Is Calvino talking about comics (“rectilinear segments”)?
