That’s quite interesting. Natsume Fusanosuke wrote the epilogue to Volume 1. It notes him as Soseki’s grandson, I guess I missed that.

He’s such an influential figure that his face is on the 2000¥ note. Also, his son Natsume Fusanosuke is Japan’s most well known “comic scholar,” basically their equivalent of Scott McCloud. He’s written several books and had an instructional TV series on manga studies for a while too.
