Maroon

My first webcomic series about a guy marooned on an island, drawn after taking a few years off from drawing comics. I learned to use my Wacom tablet and Corel Painter while making this series. 52 episodes published weekly for one year.

Download the whole series as a PDF.

Mike Meginnis wrote about Maroon twice (no longer online)

Maroon is an interesting series whose formal experiments work out very well in some cases, but occasionally miss the mark

One of the other advantages of Badman’s willingness to limit himself comes in the form of the hard-earned ability to say more with less; when he chooses to break his own rules, even in the smallest way, it has all the more meaning because he enforced them before. This strip, wherein the protagonist enjoys a sunset, lets us share in his experience of the magic of that moment by treating us to an extremely thin band of green along the horizon — Badman’s only use of that color. It’s genuinely amazing how much those pixels mean in the context of Maroon as a whole.
