		<description><![CDATA[I had the same thought as Clint H about the dot-pattern background, though I&#039;m also content to read them just as abstract dots.  Naturally I&#039;m with you 100% on Kojima&#039;s expressive quality, and I&#039;m glad to see some samples of his more abstract renderings--even when, as you note, the seemingly abstract is intelligible as something concrete in context (waves, sky, etc.).

I look forward to your discussion of Nausicaä, which is one of my favorite works in comics; and I really hope to get caught up on your Phoenix series soon (though you&#039;ve already outstripped my reading of the books so far)!]]></description>
