All PostsIt’s been awhile since I posted some cloud drawings. Here are two single panel comics by Hank Ketcham from Dennis the Menice: His First 40 Years (more on this soon). Both have a great abstract patterning to them that makes the clouds much more physical and material than one usually sees.

Those clouds look like they come straight from Northern Renaissance woodcuts…
Derik, do you know Hubert Damisch’s “Rhetorique du /Nuage/”? (Yes, that’s how the title was originally written, but you’ll probably find it in catalogues without the slashes). I think there’s also an English translation. Anyway, you might find it interesting–it’s all about clouds, mostly in Renaissance painting, IIRC.
