Spring training games start this week in Florida and Arizona. In a rare bit of timeliness, I’m going to take the next few posts (weeks?) to discuss some baseball comics. To start things off, this link came my way today (from DB Dowd): a New York Times slideshow of wondering Robert Weaver sketches from spring training 1962.

I’m going to search around for some of the paintings mentioned on that introduction, so far: a page here.

Posts in the series:

1) Cotton Woods by Ray Gotto
2) The Golem’s Mighty Swing by James Sturm
3) Satchel Paige: Striking out Jim Crow by James Sturm and Rich Tommaso
4) H2 by Mitsuru Adachi
5) ???
